[SOLUTION] Coherent Narrative
It’s final paper time! If you followed the outline directions, this should be fairly easy to write up. Be sure to read the feedback you were provided and be sure to actually write your paper. Do not engage in patchwork plagiarism because you will lose a lot (if not all) of the assignment points. If you don’t remember what patchwork plagiarism is, see the syllabus. My suggestion is that you do NOT include more than three direct quotes in your paper. Summarize everything else. Other “must do’s” for the paper: Your paper must be between 7 and 9 double spaced pages long (12 point font). This includes a bibliography. Do NOT count your title page toward the total. Include at least 12 sources. See the previous guidelines or syllabus for additional instructions, if needed. Include in text cites, which includes the author(s) last name and year. It will look like this (Smith, 2019). If you are including a direct quote from an author, be sure to include the page number the quote is on. The cite will look like this (Smith, 2019: 123). Include the complete bibliographic information for all of your sources at the end of the paper. You must integrate your sources into a coherent narrative. You cannot simply summarize each of your sources. Your paper must be organized around a clear topic and thesis statement. Your paper must be organized around the scholarly material rather than sources from the popular press. Your paper must be well written and grammatically correct. Paper Structure Introduction: What is the topic? How is it related to the course material? How well researched is the topic today? How is your paper organized (what two or three big points are you covering about your topic)? Body of the Paper: Point one about your topic (this needs to come from your scholarly sources) You should have 3 or 4 sources here that are used to make a single point Describe how each of the sources supports point 1 You should plan on 3 paragraphs worth of material Point two about your topic (this needs to come from your scholarly sources) You should have 3 or 4 sources here Describe how each of the sources support point 2 You should plan on 3 paragraphs worth of material Point three about your topic (this needs to come from your scholarly sources) You should have 3 or 4 sources here Describbe how each of the sources supports point 3 You should plan on 3 paragraphs worth of material Conclusion: Summarize the main points covered What can be done to research the topic further? What did you learn that surprised you? Work Cited: You need to provide the complete bibliographic information for each citation mentioned These should be organized alphabetically, last name first.
