Theory of Cognitive Dissonance in Leadership

Assignment: Imagine that you are a cult leader, street gang leader, military officer or corporate executive. How would you recruit people, and create conformity and obedience applying the theory of cognitive dissonance, and using techniques such as role playing, the foot in the door technique, and low balling. Explain how and why this program is or is not a form of ‘brainwashing’, and whether it is ethically justifiable.
