Slavery History

1. Summarize the concept and what it means to be a slave. How were slaves treated in the Ottoman Empire? 2. We know that slavery is a social construct and each society treats slaves differently. Give an example of slaves in a different era/region/society and how they were treated (this does not have to be from the timeframe of this course – it can be early America, Spanish colonization, etc).
