After collecting the data, students are expected to describe and critically analyze information they have unveiled from their research within the research portfolio. Data Collection ? In-depth interviews, surveys and/or field observations of the community of your choice and topic. ? What are the pros and cons of the issue/policy. Introduction The introduction portion of the portfolio, students are required to give an overview of their topic through their library research. Provide information about your community and neighborhood of choice. What documentation has been written in regards to the community you have picked. Method participant observations- Ethnography is based on the apparently simple idea that in order to understand what people are up to, it is best to observe them by interacting with them intimately and over an extended period of time. (Monaghan and Just 2000) Students will collect and create written and visual artifacts regarding the community you are studying. You will need to submit all written and recorded data collected. For the purpose of this course we will be breaking the Ethnography research in-depth interviews or survey collection. Results In the results section, students are required to summarize their finds in some logical manner, either by theme or major concepts you discover from your data collection. You should quote and highlight data that you have collected from those in the community that you have observed. Conclusion In the conclusion section, students are expected to discuss and make some assessment of their findings, and students should give some explanation to why they think their findings and future questions affect the environment in how it will shape the members of the community.
