Competition from conventional rival has had the biggest impact in depressing industry profitability: the express package delivery industry has become more concentrated in recent years, because of mergers between companies and bankruptcies of many firms. The main reasons that attributed to its non- competitiveness over FEDEX and UPS include lack of funding, poor strategic planning, price wars, lack of competitive services and products, and not understanding the competition. In order to stay ahead and get an edge over ones competitor, the company must closely monitors the moves of all the competitors. One must be aware of how their business operates. The survival of the business depends on how well one is able to adapt to the competitions changing strategies.
